Introduction
Our trip to China commenced in Hangzhou,on the southeast coast. Then we flew to Langzhou (4 hour flight) and on to Jiayuguan via overnight sleeper train. From there we went to the famous fort at the end of The Great Wall and walked the overhanging Great Wall nearby. Next a 5 hour drive into the Gobi desert brought us to the Yuling Grottos (much of the way with NO decent road and lots of whirling dust!) and finally 4 more hours drive brought us to our westernmost point: Dunhuang.
We returned via Beijing and Shanghai, and finally on to Singapore.
